Jan 2025: Social Activism Panel at The Nueva School

Peninsula Multifaith Coalition, Equal Rights Advocacy, Faith in Action Bay Area

We hosted a panel-and-Q&A-style conversation for a couple dozen Nueva School community members — from students to parents to faculty — hearing from public service, legal policy, and faith leaders from around the Bay Area. We covered their careers, what motivates them in their work, discussed the challenges about the communities they advocate for & recent wins, big and small. It was so rewarding to empower students and professionals alike by shining a light on the important work of feminists dedicated to public service.

Fall 2025: Classroom Anti-Sexism Lessons

Screenshot 2025-04-02 at 4.25.39 PM.png

We met with administration to revamp existing social emotional learning curriculum centered around preventing sexism in the classroom. We partnered with faculty to make our lessons accessible, engaging, and inclusive. By highlighting real experiences from former students, we exposed ninth-grade students to feminist terminology and the prevalence of micro aggressions, teaching them the importance of breaking down oppressive structures and gender constructs. Our curriculum has reached over 200 students! You can find it linked here. We encourage you to adapt it to your school and share it with your peers!

November 2024: Reflecting on the US Elections

Club Meeting Spaces

This election characterized a moment in American politics with misogyny, racism, xenophobia, and white  nationalism at the forefront. Our club discussions have acknowleded the various effects on women and people across the US, no matter if their state voted red or blue.

October 2024: Connected with 500 voters

Center for Common Ground & RAC Florida

Through the Center for Common Ground’s Reclaim Our Vote program, we sent 350 postcards to voters in Pennsylvania, encouraging them to support reproductive rights and allied legislators on the ballot. We connected with 150 additional voters in Florida, focusing on communicating with disenfranchised Black women to encourage them to pass Florida’s 4th ballot initiative, which would codify the right to reproductive health care in their constitution.

Spring 2024: Annual Feminism Conference

The Nueva School

We welcomed dozens of community members from all across the Bay Area -- students, professionals, educators, and families alike -- to be inspired by some wonderful feminist leaders. Attendees heard from a variety of speakers, from entrepreneurs and businesswomen, engineers, educators, spiritual leaders, to women in local politics and political organizing! It was so rewarding to see our hard work come to fruition after many months of planning and preparation, and we're looking forward to next year!

Winter 2023-24: Community Building

Club Meetings

We met and had impactful club discussions on exclusion in feminism, building our understanding of intersectionality. We discussed J.K. Rowlings's TERFdom, Gloria Steinem’s thoughts on second-wave feminism, and Kimberlé Crenshaw’s Black feminist legal theories. Building on this, we discussed different cultural dynamics and gender roles during the holidays, as well as how identity plays a part in the Golden Globe awards and their aftermath. We also analyzed budding TikTok trends to learn more about sexism in social media. To culminate our winter, we planned the 9th Annual Feminism conference!
